  • HOW LONG ARE THE MODULES?

    Based on recent feedback, modules have changed in length. Module 1 & 2 will be 9 weeks series. And Module 3: Mundillo Lace making will be a 3-week intensive.

  • DO I NEED TO HAVE SKILLS IN TEXTILES TO PARTICIPATE?

    No! This workshop series is open to all skill levels.

  • WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPATE?

    The workshop cohorts will be a mixed age group ranging from ages 14 up to senior.

  • DO I NEED TO LIVE IN KENSINGTON / FAIRHILL TO PARTICIPATE?

    We will be prioritizing folk from our immediate community by opening registration to the following zip codes: Kensington- 19125 , Norris Square- 19122, Fairhill- 19133

    If there are open spaces after the initial registration for these communities we will open registration for the greater Philadelphia area.

  • HOW MUCH ARE PARTICIPANTS COMPENSATED FOR BEING IN THE PROGRAM?

    The hourly rate for workshop participants is $15/hr for a combined total of 36 workshop hours across the sessions. Total compensation for attendance will be $540 per participant.

  • DO I NEED TO IDENTIFY AS LATINO/A/X?

    No! These workshops are open to all and embrace individuals of all races, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds. We foster an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and respected.

  • DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE MY INCOME?

    No, we will not require income verification to qualify for the workshops.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T ATTEND A WORKSHOP DATE?

    We hope that all participants are able to attend the workshop dates, but we understand that things can come up. If participants can’t attend they are able to sign up for our open studio hours on Saturdays from 11AM - 2PM to make up any progress they might have missed.

  • HOW DO OPEN STUDIO HOURS WORK?

    Participants are able to sign up for open studio hours on Saturdays from 11AM - 2PM to make up any workshop they might have missed or for extra time to work on their projects. Participants must sign up for open studio hours prior to coming in using the contact provided.

    If participants need the teaching artist available to make up for missing a workshop they must request that during their sign up. Participants can also use the studio to work independently as long as they sign up.

  • WOULD I BE ABLE TO SIGN UP FOR ALL MODULES AT ONCE?

    Modules will only open up for sign up a month or so before the workshops begin. Participants in cohorts of previous modules will have early access to sign up for upcoming modules.

  • HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MODULES OPEN FOR SIGN UP?

    The best way to stay informed on all Tramando updates including workshop registration would be to sign up for our newsletter. We will also announce registration on all of our social media accounts and Taller Puertorriqueño’s main website as well as the Tramando website.

  • DO I HAVE TO BE PART OF THE COLLABORATIVE ART INSTALLATION?

    Participants can choose to be part of the installation if they are able to, it will be created under the guidance of visiting artists and the program lead. They can also just submit / donate their artwork created throughout their module to be included in the final art installation. We will have an unveiling celebration and event to view the final artwork and all participants will be invited to attend.

  • HOW WILL THE PROJECT BE DOCUMENTED?

    We will be taking photos and video throughout the workshops culminating in a documented gallery style photo series. We will ask that all participants sign a photo release form at the start of the workshops.

  • WILL I NEED TO PURCHASE ANY MATERIALS?

    We will provide all materials needed and participants won't need to buy anything to be part of the cohort. Participants are welcome to bring their own if they wish to use a specific kind of material for their projects, but otherwise we will have all materials needed.
